The Martingale Strategy

Loved for its simplicity, the Martingale is one of the most famous betting strategies around. The idea is that Roulette players focus on even-money bets. You select a starting unit and double your stake if you lose. If you win, you revert to your initial bet. Here’s how it works:

Select your starting unit. In this case, we’re starting with ₹100.

Choose an even-money bet – Red/Black, Even/Odd or High/Low.

If you lose, continue to double your bet (₹200, ₹400, ₹800) until you win.

If you win, collect your winnings and revert to ₹100

One thing to keep in mind, though, is you’ll need a substantial bankroll to begin with. If you’re unlucky and lose seven bets in a row, your eighth bet will cost ₹12,800 if you start with ₹100. The losses can add up extremely quickly. The other factor to consider is the table limits. At some point, your next bet could exceed the table maximum, ultimately causing the system to fail.

The Fibonacci Strategy

The Fibonacci strategy is a negative-progression system inspired by the famous numerical sequence – 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89 and so on. Again, it’s designed to be used on even-money wagers when playing Roulette. You start at number one and move up or down the sequence depending on whether you win or lose.

If you lose, you progress to the next number in the sequence.

If you win, you go back two places.

In Roulette, there are many other betting strategies you can use. Most of these, like the Martingale and Fibonacci, focus on even-money wagers. Some are simple while others are slightly more complex. Let’s take a look at some of the more popular options.

The Paroli Strategy: Also known as the Reverse Martingale, this is a progressive betting system. Here, though, you double your bet each time you win and return to your initial stake whenever you lose. The idea is to maximise your returns from winning streaks and minimise losses when you lose.

The D’Alembert Strategy: The D’Alembert is a negative-progression system that’s helpful for bankroll management. It’s a low-risk strategy, designed to grind out small wins and help chase down losses. Essentially, you choose a starting unit and increase it by one unit when you lose or decrease it by one after a win.

The Grand Martingale Strategy: This is a more aggressive version of the standard Martingale. In practice, it works the same but with one slight twist. With this system, every time you double your bet you also add an extra wager equal to your initial bet.
