In traditional retro slot fashion, Sticky Seven Megaways sticks to a simple set of features. But Skywind still manages to add plenty of oomph to Sticky Seven Megaways, giving it a significant boost.
Practically all of the Sticky Seven Megaways slot features revolve around wild symbols. Sure, you get them in their standard form, but they get upgraded with multipliers, sticky wilds, and random wild features along the way.
It works really well for the most part, although we weren’t too keen on one of the free spins options. Although we enjoyed our sticky wilds free spins, the random wilds version felt significantly inferior. Sure, it lasts for a while longer, but we never really managed to land any big wins through it, nowhere near the sort of wins we managed from the sticky wilds free spins, anyway.
Multiplier Wilds – Wilds land on the reels as lucky number 7s. The basic versions of these symbols have no value of their own, but they step in for any missing pay symbols that could form part of a winning combination. But wild symbols up the ante, landing with multipliers of up to 3x. The multiplier made a massive difference whenever it formed a win and things got even better during free spins, where we landed our biggest win of ₹10,000.
Scatter Symbols – You’ll need a minimum of three scatter diamond symbols to access free spins. Before going into these though, you’ll need to choose from Sticky Wilds free spins or Random Wilds free spins. Once you take your pick, you automatically spin a wheel to determine the number of free spins you get. The more scatter symbols you land, the higher the odds of landing more free spins on the wheel. It’s a neat trick, which adds even more excitement whenever the bonus rounds are triggered.
Sticky Wilds Free Spins – The most lucrative of the two free spins options, the sticky wilds free spins, turns every wild that lands on the reel sticky for the duration of the bonus rounds, including wild multipliers. This turned out to be really fun and landing four or more wilds ended up turning every spin into a massive win.
Random Wilds Free Spins – Random wilds free spins give you a much longer time on the reels, but it never really felt as good as its sticky wilds counterpart. Each spin has the potential to dish out a number of wilds on the reels, but these never proved to be as rewarding as putting together a handful of sticky multiplier wilds.
Buy feature – If you’re not into waiting for scatter symbols to trigger your free spins, there are two buy features you can go for. The first costs 25% of your stake and increases your chances of landing scatter symbols. The second guarantees three scatter symbols on the next round, for the cost of 100x of your bet.
Although we enjoyed the way Skywind mixes a retro slot format with Megaways and a maximum win of 10,000x, the slot is somewhat let down by uninspiring features, particularly the random wilds free spins.
There’s some potential to be had here for experienced players, but there are more rewarding Megaways games you can find elsewhere.
Stakelogic’s Super Logic Megaways follows a similar retro slot framework but throws in features like cascading reels, a super win feature and a gamble feature. It does come with a more limited maximum win of 2,592x though. Although we enjoyed the mix of a retro layout, Megaways mechanics and special features, we felt that the max win was ultimately a bit of a letdown.
On the other hand, iSoftBet goes for a more modern video slot setup with Aztec Gold Megaways but sticks to a simple set of features that include wilds, respins and jackpot prizes. Even so, all symbol wins proved to be rewarding, with a maximum win of up to 19,200x your stake.
