Although it sticks to a traditional setup, for Classic Blackjack, Red Tiger Gaming has still managed to include some bonus features. Most of these are aimed at beginners, with The Book Says feature offering advice based on the hand/s you’re dealt.
It’s a great function to help beginners find their way around the game but could be annoying for experienced players who don’t need to be guided. Luckily, Red Tiger Gaming allows you to set this to on or off whenever you want, so you can play the game however you like.
Insurance Bet – Before you’re dealt a hand, the game asks if you’d like to place an insurance bet on it. This can be done across all three hands or none at all. The choice is yours. You could even disable insurance bets completely from the settings menu, so you never get asked to place them again. We tried them out a couple of times but eventually toggled them off since we aren’t particular fans of insurance bets.
Multi-Hand Play – You can go for the classic experience of playing with just one hand or expand to having two or even three hands in play. Sure, the more hands you add in, the more expensive each round gets, but you’ll also increase your potential to land big wins. We got our biggest win from two winning hands in one round, one of which we had managed to split. It gave us a total of ₹800,000 and of course, the winnings could have been even bigger if we’d managed to split and win with all three hands.
Bet Warnings – This feature is activated by default and warns you when you hit on hard 17 or higher or stand on 11 or lower. It’s perfect for newcomers who are still getting used to Blackjack, but it can also be useful to players who might accidentally hit the wrong button while playing. You can switch off bet warnings whenever you like, but we preferred having it on for that extra security.
The Book Says – Classic Blackjack’s best feature is The Book Says. It’s turned off by default but if you activate it, it offers suggestions based on the hand you’re dealt. So, if your hand is on 14, the book will probably suggest that you hit and if you’re on 19, the book will suggest a stand instead. It’s the ideal guide for new players, but for someone like us, the warnings were frankly quite annoying.
Red Tiger Gaming rarely ever disappoints, and it strikes gold again with Classic Blackjack. The game lives up to the promise of offering a classic Blackjack game, while also throwing in some additional features that make it more accessible to beginners. The flexibility to customise the features you want to include makes it more versatile, so we can easily recommend this to both newcomers and veteran players alike.
