Immediately hitting 21 is the ultimate goal of the classic table game and Roxor Gaming’s 9 Up Blackjack has added in a special bet that boosts the game’s top reward. It’s quite a great addition, and the titular 9 Up bonus bet helped us bag our biggest win of ₹600,000.
Title:
9 Up Blackjack
Game Developer:
Roxor Gaming
RTP:
99.64%
Bonus Features:
Double Down. Splitting, Insurance Bet, 9 Up Bet
Roxor Gaming has thrown in eight regular Blackjack decks and added the special 9 Up version. You’ll need to place a specific wager on the special deck to use it, but you can equally choose to opt out of it and play the basic game.
Splitting – In following traditional Blackjack rules, 9 Up Blackjack allows you to split a hand if it has two identical cards. This essentially gives you another two hands and increases your chances of hitting Blackjack or beating the dealer. You can split up to three times in a round, although Aces can only be split once.
Double Down – 9 Up Blackjack only allows you to double down after splitting a pair. Although the game allows you to double down on any cards you might have, we were quite sceptical and only decided to go for it when our total value sat somewhere between 10 and 14.
Insurance Bet – The insurance bet gives you a backup in case the dealer hits Blackjack or beats your hand. Although it sounds like an enticing offer, we generally preferred to stir clear of it, since it increases the house edge and doesn’t offer that big a payout.
9 Up Bet – The 9 Up deck is made up exclusively of 9s, 10s, Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces. To activate the deck, you need to place a wager worth 20% of your main bet on it. This allows you to draw your first card from the deck, giving you an even better chance of hitting Blackjack. If you do hit Blackjack, you get the wager back. If you don’t hit Blackjack but still manage to beat the dealer, you’re paid 1:1 on your main wager. It helped us get our biggest in-game win of ₹600,000.
Roxor Gaming sticks to its formula of combining a traditional base game with an optional and highly lucrative bonus feature. The base game alone is worth playing here, with some great visuals and an intuitive interface that guides you along the way. The 9 Up bonus bet can deliver a brilliant boost, but it can equally raise the house edge and drain your gaming budget.
We figure both newcomers and veteran Blackjack players can have a great time playing 9 Up Blackjack. So, get ready to fire up the game and draw your first 9 Up card!
Switch Studios’ Classic Blackjack with Ten-20 goes down a similar path with classic Blackjack features being fused with the titular ten-20 bonus bet. The bets can be placed at the start of any round and payout up to 22x your bet. We managed a 10x bonus and walked away with a win of ₹50,000.
Gaming Corps’ Blackjack Bonus Wheel 1000 doubles down on the bonus features by adding in multi-hand play as well as a bonus wheel. If you activate the bonus bet, you get a spin on the wheel whenever you hit Blackjack. This gives you win multipliers of up to 1,000x your bet.
